Our office

Most of a case is handled by phone, text and email. When a meeting is needed, we hold it wherever is easiest for you.

Where the office is matters less than most people expect. Almost everything in an injury case happens by phone, by email, and at the doctor's office, and the parts that need a room can happen at our Tarzana office or wherever is easiest for you. If getting there is a problem, say so on the first call. Reach us at (424) 235-7879, 24 hours a day, or through the contact page.

Questions about where we practice

Do I have to come to one of your offices?
No. Most of an injury case runs by phone, text, and email, and documents are signed electronically. When a meeting matters, we will find the office or the arrangement that works for you. Call (424) 235-7879 and say what you need.
Do you take cases outside Los Angeles County?
Josh Kohanim is licensed by the State Bar of California, so the firm can take a case anywhere in the state. The cities we publish pages for run from the San Fernando Valley to Orange County, the Inland Empire, San Diego, the Central Coast, and Kern County. Tell us where the crash happened on the first call, because that is what decides which court would hear it and which agencies are involved.
Does the city where I was hurt change my deadline?
Not the general deadline. Code of Civil Procedure section 335.1 gives two years for an injury claim anywhere in California (leginfo.legislature.ca.gov). What the city changes is which public entity you may have to file against, and that claim is due in six months under Government Code section 911.2. A crash with a city bus, a county truck, or a defective roadway is the case where location changes the deadline.
What if I was hurt in California but I live somewhere else?
That is common on the freeways here and it does not complicate the claim much. The case generally belongs where the injury happened and where the defendant is, which is California. You do not have to move back, and you will not have to travel here for most of it. Start with the questions page, then call (424) 235-7879.
